Course Layout & Hole Descriptions

Unlike most courses located in densely populated areas, The Chimneys stands alone in its secluded, natural setting.  While the course offers forgiveness in length at only 6,384 yards from the back tees, save strokes on your round with our helpful hole-by-hole course layout guide with professional tips.  Scroll through each hole for a preview of your upcoming round.

Hole 1

The front nine of The Chimneys starts with a short, downhill par 4. Enough distance off the tee should lead to an easy pitch for your approach and a birdie opportunity.

Hole 2

The easiest hole on the golf course, hole 2 presents a short par 4.  Make sure to avoid the large pine in the center of this fairway.

Hole 3

The lengthy par 4, 3rd, stretches past clustered pines and fairway bunkers. Golfers find forgiveness at the unguarded green.

Hole 4

This simple, short par 4 rolls up a gradual incline to an undulating green.  Play your tee shot to the right of the fairway for your best angle to the flag.

Hole 5

The only par 3 on the front 9 slopes downhill with large bunkers behind the green. Golfers must club down with accuracy to guarantee par.

Hole 6

The only par 5 on the front 9, the straight-away 6th leads golfers uphill over a contoured fairway. Avoid the steep drop-off at the right of this small green.

Hole 7

The elevated tee on this par 4 offers a captivating view of hole 7, bending slightly to the left.  Make sure to take enough club on your second shot to this narrow green perched high above the fairway.

Hole 8

The par 4, 8th, mimics the elevation change of the previous hole, running parallel over the rolling hillside. Play to the left side of the green on your approach to avoid the greenside bunker for an easy par.

Hole 9

The final hole of The Chimneys’ front 9 is a short par 4, gently sloping downhill back to the clubhouse. Though most golfers find themselves with a short second shot, an accurate approach is paramount to what presents as the smallest green on the golf course.

Hole 10

Hole #10 at The Chimneys requires a well-positioned tee shot between the first of our feature rock displays on the back nine.  A good preview of what is to come, this average-length par 4 highlights the course’s character and individuality.

Hole 11

The green of #11, the signature hole at The Chimneys, is guarded by dramatic rock-faced bunkers.  A tee shot to the center of the green rewards golfers on this challenging par 3.

Hole 12

The par 4, 12th bends significantly on this dogleg left.  Generally considered the most difficult hole on the course, be careful not to block out your approach shot to the green by placing your tee shot behind the trees on the right side of the fairway.

Hole 13

The rock-faced pedestal tees on this beautiful par 4, are impressive to even the most seasoned golfers.  Play to the left side of the fairway for a safe approach to the green.

Hole 14

One of the only forced carries on the course, this dogleg right demands a lengthy drive over the creek crossing the middle of the fairway.

Hole 15

A true shot-maker’s hole, the par 4, 15th requires a precision tee shot, followed by an accurate approach threaded between the trees and boulders lining this narrow fairway.

Hole 16

The first par 5 on the back, hole 16 lends some relief and a chance at birdie over level terrain.  Enjoy the view at this green as it is one of the most picturesque locations on the course.

Hole 17

The gentile incline on this short par 3 is deceptive and may require an extra club, especially when the hole is cut to the back of the green.

Hole 18

The gorgeous finishing hole at The Chimneys forces golfers to carefully select their clubs in order to navigate past the creek crossing the fairway and the large bunker that often snags a poorly judged second shot. Hole 18 also features a stunning rock wall behind the green before bringing you back to the clubhouse.

During the summer of 2024, The Chimneys Golf Course underwent a significant renovation, converting all greens from bent grass to ultra-dwarf Sunday Bermudagrass in order to present a more desirable playing surface and improve golf course sustainability.
